2024 MTV VMA’s Benson Boone

Benson Boone delivered a captivating performance of his hit song ”Beautiful Things” at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, held at the UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 with video content designed by Green Wall Designs. He began his performance intimately, seated at a grand piano under a single spotlight. As the song built in intensity, Benson made his way to the stage, where his performance crescendoed in a stunning display against a backdrop of tungsten lights, with golden sparks raining down around him. Congratulations to Benson on his nominations and his big win! And thank you to Trevor Burk at Visual Noise Creative and the incredible team at MTV and VMAs for bringing Green Wall Designs on board.

tv-show| 2024

STORY:

2024 MTV VMA’s Eminem
Eminem kicked off the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards with an electrifying performance of ”Houdini” and ”Somebody Save Me”, featuring Jelly Roll. The ceremony took place at the UBS Arena in New York on September 11, 2024. Green Wall Designs was proud to produce the video content for this high-profile event.
The performance unfolded against a striking Gotham City skyline, created by Synapse. Green Wall Designs brought the visual narratives to life, enhancing the atmosphere as Eminem, leading a massive crew of Slim Shady clones, stormed the arena. The iconic Moon Person statue emerged through a glowing portal at the center of the cityscape, with a dramatic “E” projected onto its visor in a nod to Batman.
The spectacle then transitioned into a heartfelt rendition of ”Somebody Save Me”, featuring home footage of Eminem’s daughter and live-recorded visuals of Jelly Roll, crafted to add emotional depth to the performance, resonating deeply with the audience.
A huge thank you to Trevor Burk at Visual Noise Creative and the incredible team at MTV and VMAs for bringing Green Wall Designs on board to produce such impactful video content.

BENJAMIN INGROSSO | BETTER DAYS TOUR

BENJAMIN INGROSSO | BETTER DAYS TOUR

TOUR | 2024

STORY:

2024: The Year of BENJAMIN INGROSSO

Kicking off with a European tour and featured as an interval act for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, Benjamin Ingrosso has been consistently releasing new music, making 2024 truly his year. Well deserved, we might add!

As a long-time collaborator, it’s GREEN WALL DESIGNS’ pleasure to deliver content design and Notch programming for his amazing sold-out summer tour. And what a blast it has been!
Working closely with Benjamin himself, his stylist and Creative Director Dennis Bröchner, as well as long-time friend and colleague to GWD, Tobias Rylander, the show, set, and conceptual designer, it has been a smooth and exciting journey.
A lot of the content is loosely based on the cut-out style we created for his ESC performance, enhanced with the amazing possibilities of Notch to incorporate it with the IMAG feed. Following Tobias Rylander’s fantastic concept of using only ROE Vanish 8 as the sole LED screen, complemented by a dynamic array of lights behind it, there have been beautiful integrations between lights, content, and cameras to add texture and depth.

An amazing opportunity to work and have fun at the same time!

EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2024

EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2024 (ESC)

TV-Show | 2024

STORY:

GREEN WALL DESIGNS is proud to have been part of the 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, collaborating with a large team of creatives and technicians, including production designer Florian Wieder and the host broadcaster SVT’s Show and Contest team. We were tasked with developing the lighting and video design for all LED surfaces, including the opening and interval acts, as well as all of the home looks for the show. Green Wall also produced and managed all external lighting and video content and collaborated the 37 delegations in realizing their stage visions to life.

We are delighted with the final result, which featured a stage solution placed in the middle of the arena, surrounded by the audience, creating a 360-degree experience. This innovative approach offered a unique experience for viewers and the live audience. Together with Florian Wieder and his team, as well as producers from SVT, we drew inspiration from modern music and tour production, and the vibrant region around Malmö and Öresund. The theme “UNITED BY MUSIC” worked seamlessly with the in-around concept, placing the audience in the camera shots and perfectly encapsulating our inclusive and warm atmosphere.

We also collaborated closely with Sidney Lin, who, along with his team, developed the idents and graphics design for the show under the theme ‘The Eurovision Lights.’ This concept combined elements of the Northern Lights with the harmonic rhythms of sound equalizers.

The lighting and video design featured various modular elements, such as moving LED cubes, moving lighting pods, and additional stage technology to create dynamic looks and great flexibility for each performance and moments in the show. The lighting system was one of the largest grandMA3 control networks for lighting, playback video, lasers, and PixMob (LED wristbands) to date for a music show, involving over 200,000 parameters of control across 682 DMX universes.

The 68th Eurovision Song Contest, organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and hosted for the seventh time by Sveriges Television (SVT), was staged in Malmö for the third time and the second time at the Malmö Arena, following the success of the 2013 “We Are One” themed ESC event.

Over 163 million viewers tuned in to the final of ESC 2024 via public service media channels, with votes cast from 156 countries around the world. The event reached nearly 500 million accounts on TikTok.

Eurovision Song Contest 2024 was won by Switzerland’s Nemo with their song “The Code.”

ABBA VOYAGE | LONDON

ABBA VOYAGE | LONDON

SHOW | 2022

Story:

“WITHOUT A SONG OR A DANCE WHAT ARE WE?”

ON MAY 26, THE FOUR MEMBERS OF ABBA WERE IN ATTENDANCE FOR THE OPENING NIGHT OF ABBA VOYAGE, THEIR REVOLUTIONARY CONCERT WHICH SEES THEM PERFORM THEIR GREATEST HITS AS DIGITAL AVATARS, IN THEIR VERY OWN ABBA ARENA AT QUEEN ELIZABETH OLYMPIC PARK IN LONDON. ABBA VOYAGE IS A CONCERT LIKE NO OTHER: DIRECTED BY BAILLIE WALSH AND PRODUCED BY SVANA GISLA AND LUDVIG ANDERSSON, WITH THE DIGITAL ABBA’S CREATED BY LEGENDARY VFX COMPANY, INDUSTRIAL LIGHT & MAGIC (ILM), CHOREOGRAPHY BY WAYNE MCGREGOR, A TEN-PIECE LIVE BAND THAT PLAY LIVE THROUGHOUT THE CONCERT, AND CUTTING-EDGE LIGHTING AND AUDIO TECHNOLOGY.

GREEN WALL DESIGNS (GWD) WAS CONTRACTED IN 2020 TO PROVIDE LIGHTING PROGRAMMING AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO LIGHTING DESIGN UNDER THE CREATIVE VISION OF DIRECTOR BAILLIE WALSH AND IN COLLABORATION WITH VISUAL CONSULTANTS TETRO. WE PROVIDED PRE-VISUALIZATION RENDERS THROUGH THE CREATIVE PROCESS, AND LATER LIGHTING DATA AND DIGITAL SET TO BE INGESTED BY ILM FOR SEVERAL SONGS. WE ALSO PROVIDED A LIGHTING DIRECTION & PROGRAMMING TEAM ON SITE IN THE ARENA AS A PART OF THE WIDE CREATIVE TECHNICAL TEAM MAKING THE SHOW COME TO LIFE DURING REHEARSALS. THIS PROJECT REALLY CHALLENGED OURSELVES AND THE TECHNOLOGY AVAILABLE IN MANY WAYS AND FORCED US TO DEVELOP NEW WORKFLOWS, BUT ALSO TO TRUST OUR EXPERIENCE AS A LOT OF DECISIONS WERE MADE LONG BEFORE THEY EVEN STARTED TO BUILD THE ARENA. IT IS CERTAINLY A MILESTONE FOR US AS A COMPANY. THANK YOU TO ABBA, BAILLIE WALSH AND THE PRODUCERS FOR TRUSTING US, AND TO ALL THE REST OF THE TEAM FOR GREAT COLLABORATION!
